Lasers, panels and infrared beds compared

A hand-held laser, a light panel and a full-length bed all use light. The main difference is how much of your body the light reaches.

How they work

All three work the same way. Cells absorb certain wavelengths of light and can make more energy as a result. They differ in power, in how deep the light goes, and in how much of your body it reaches at once.

Lasers

A high-intensity laser sends a powerful, narrow beam into a small area. It reaches deep but covers only a few square centimetres. It's used on one specific spot, usually by a clinician.

Panels

A red-light panel uses LEDs to cover a wider area, such as your face, back or a limb, at lower power. It suits work near the surface, such as skin. To cover more of your body, you need more sessions or have to move the panel.

The infrared bed

You lie in the bed and the light reaches you from head to toe at once. Red light works mostly near the surface. Near-infrared light reaches deeper. Nothing needs to be aimed or moved.

The light only works where it reaches your skin, so you undress for the bed. You can keep your underwear on, and you're on your own in the room.

Why the session is twelve minutes

The bed covers your whole body at once, so there's no need to treat one area at a time. That's why the session is twelve minutes. Allow a few minutes to undress. The whole visit takes under half an hour, and there's no downtime afterwards.

Before you book

It is not a sunbed. There's no ultraviolet, so it won't tan or burn you.

It is not a medical treatment either. We don't diagnose or treat anything. If you have a diagnosed condition, follow your doctor's advice and tell us before you book.

The session

Twelve minutes on the bed, undressed.

€50 a session, €200 for five, €350 for ten. We set up the bed, then you undress and lie down. You can keep your underwear on, and you're on your own in the room.
