Athletic performance

For athletes.

Our four treatments, and when to book each one around your training.

Who it's for.

Runners, rugby and GAA players, cyclists, lifters, Hyrox athletes and fighters, and plenty of people who just train most mornings.

These treatments won't make you fitter. People book them between training sessions, for example the evening after a heavy lift, the day between matches or the week after a race.

You don't need to know which therapy you want. Tell us about your training week and we'll recommend one.

Our four treatments.

Here is a short summary of each. Each treatment has its own page with more detail.

They don't replace training, sleep or food.

A client sitting in the open hyperbaric chamber

Hyperbaric oxygen

45–60 minutes · you sit still

Athletes book this one most. You breathe extra oxygen in a pressurised chamber, so your blood carries more oxygen than usual. Most people book it the day after a match, race or long run, and during heavy training weeks.

The infrared bed

Infrared

12 minutes · you lie down

You lie under red and near-infrared light for twelve minutes. You undress so the light reaches your skin. It's the easiest one to fit around training. It adds no load and there's nothing to recover from, so it's fine on a rest day or between two sessions. People book it for next-day stiffness and to wind down in the evening.

HIFEM

20–30 minutes · muscle work

You sit fully clothed while a focused magnetic field contracts the muscle underneath. It reaches muscle that's hard to work on your own, including the core and pelvic floor.

Massage

30–60 minutes · hands-on

We offer therapeutic massage, reflexology and lymphatic drainage with clinical therapists. Book it when something has been tight for a while. Tell us if you'd like a working massage or a relaxing one.

When to book.

These are the five times athletes book most often. If your week looks different, ring us.

  1. Post-session

After a hard session or match.

This is our most common booking. People use infrared in the evening after a heavy lift or long run, or the chamber the day after a match or race. Neither adds training load. People say the first thing they notice is less next-day stiffness and lighter legs in the next session.

  2. Pre-event

In the week of a race or match.

If you want the chamber or the bed before a race or match, use them in the weeks before too, so you know how you respond.

  3. Niggles

    When you're injured.

We don't assess injuries or build rehab plans. If you're working with a physio or doctor, follow their plan and use us around it, with their agreement. Tell us what you've been told to avoid.

  4. Heavy blocks

    Through a heavy training block.

During a heavy block or run of fixtures, short regular sessions work better than one long visit once things have gone wrong. Two or three infrared sessions a week is common, and the chamber once or twice.

  5. Travel days

    Travelling, and between rounds.

Long journeys leave you stiff, and multi-day events leave little time between rounds. Infrared fits best into short gaps. It takes twelve minutes and there's nothing to recover from (allow a few minutes to undress). The chamber needs a longer slot, so book it for the evening before or the morning after.

Common questions.

Will this make me faster?

No. Training makes you faster. Sleep and food affect how much of that you keep. Our treatments support the time in between. Judge them by whether your next training block goes better than the last.

Does a session take anything out of me?

Infrared, hyperbaric oxygen and massage don't. There's nothing to recover from, so any of them suits a rest day.

When in the week should I book?

If you're coming once, book it after your hardest session. Regulars tend to use the chamber in the morning and the bed in the evening, and fit HIFEM and massage around them.

Tell us your week and we'll recommend what's worth it.

I'm coming back from an injury. Can I use this?

Check with your physio or doctor first. We don't assess injuries or build rehab plans, but we can work within one.

I get tested. Is any of this a problem?

None of our treatments involve a substance. They use oxygen under pressure, light, a magnetic field and massage. Your governing body sets the rules, so if you're in a testing pool, check with your federation or anti-doping body before you book. We'll give them any equipment details they need.

Do I have to buy a block?

You don't have to, but we recommend it. Recovery works over a run of sessions, and a block lowers the price of each one.

Try a single session first if you'd like.
